Milan’s Story

Follow Us for Updates

Milan moved into her apartment with Aeon three years ago. Milan’s parents weren’t able to support her, and she grew up in foster care. While she appreciated the support of the family that took her in, Milan was never able to fully be herself during her childhood.

After turning 18, Milan got connected to an Aeon community specifically designed for youth who have experienced trauma. Through this home, Milan and residents like her receive case management services and other resources to help them heal.

When she turned 18, Milan didn’t feel comfortable in her own skin. Without the resources to manage her mental health, she struggled to make ends meet. But with the support of her case managers, Milan has sought out opportunities to grow.

“Three years into living here, I’ve accomplished so much and have learned so much about myself. I’ve gotten into therapy, I’m going to school through Twin Cities Rise… I’m doing really great. I have to thank the great staff for the attentiveness and the patience they have for everyone.” — Milan
