Resident Connections & Leadership.
Supporting housing stability and resident well-being across our communities.
Program Mission
At Aeon, our top priorities are housing stability and resident well-being. Our property portfolio includes 5,885 units of affordable housing, and each one of the households we serve is unique. To support the stability of our residents across this portfolio, our Resident Services program provides a continuum of supports designed to help residents meet their individual goals.

Resident Interactions
Over the last year, 2,103 households across 25 properties have had access to Resident Connections (RC) staff.
The primary goal of each Resident Connections Coordinator is to work with the residents to keep them stably housed. RC staff help residents apply for emergency rental assistance, find a food shelf, and connect with childcare they can afford. They help residents find work, connect them with programs for continuing education, and mediate resident conversations with maintenance technicians and site managers.
- $3.6 million in emergency rental assistance in 2024
- 233 households received food support in 2024

Equitable Housing Leadership Program.
A Staff-Supported, Resident-Led Advocacy and Leadership Group
In 2021, Aeon launched the Equitable Housing Leadership Program (ELP). This program focuses on residents’ personal growth and empowers advocacy for change at Aeon and beyond. When residents see that their voice matters, they bring that sense of purpose back to their communities. This program makes advocacy more accessible by strengthening members’ understanding of policymaking rules, providing training and individualized developmental resources, and compensating residents for their time.
- 33 resident advocates in 2023
- 130 residents in the ELP pipeline
- 90 resident interactions with legislators to support the passage of a $1 billion state housing budget (the largest in MN history)
