Matthew’s Story

Follow Us for Updates

Matthew, an Aeon resident and artist, has been living in his Aeon home for nearly a decade. Before moving in, he had to drop out of art school due to financial constraints, but his passion for painting remained strong. Matthew, a self-taught artist, started showcasing his work in local coffee shops and eventually got his first big break painting jazz-themed pieces for a local jazz café. This opportunity sparked hope for a career in art, but the journey continued to be challenging.

Despite finding work, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted his income, and with support from Aeon’s Resident Connections team, Matthew was able to keep his home during this tough period. Now, in his Aeon home, he has a stable environment to pursue his art while maintaining steady employment.

Matthew’s story illustrates how having a safe and affordable home allows him to pursue his dreams. His housing with Aeon gives him the space and security he needs to create, grow, and find joy in his art—something he hopes all Aeon residents can achieve with the help of supporters like you.
