Expanded Executive Committee Brings Cross-Sector Leadership to Support Aeon’s Mission
MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Aeon, a nonprofit developer, owner, and manager of affordable homes in the Twin Cities, has named Martha Nevanen as Chairperson of its Board of Directors. Nevanen succeeds Melissa Downey, who will continue to serve as Board Secretary.
A longtime member of Aeon’s board and former Vice Chair, Nevanen brings decades of experience in corporate marketing and communications. She is the founder of Buzz Partners, a fractional CMO consultancy that helps organizations align marketing and communications strategy with business growth. Her leadership spans multiple sectors, including commercial real estate and financial services. . She has also served nationally on initiatives to advance diversity in real estate finance, and in leadership of the International Association of Business Communicators.

The committee brings deep experience across real estate, human services, and both private and nonprofit leadership. Their guidance supports Aeon’s continued focus on long-term affordability, community resilience, and innovative housing solutions.
