Amran joined Aeon four years ago, in 2020. Today, she serves three residential communities in the Elliot Park and Phillips neighborhoods of Minneapolis. Much of the time, Amran assists residents with maintaining their housing – helping them complete paperwork, call utility providers, or have conversations with property management staff. She also hosts events, so residents can get to know one another and build a sense of trust with their neighbors.
Since 2020, nearly every resident in the buildings Amran serves has worked with her to access some form of help. Each situation is different, and Amran works to help residents with whatever concerns or goals they have. Many times, she and the resident are learning together to find the right resources and opportunities. She describes, “The things that might be right for one person aren’t always right for everyone. Sometimes, we need to find a culturally specific service provider in the area who the resident will trust. I don’t always know these resources right away, but I’m here to help the resident find what they need.”
